Courtesy of GorillazWell, the inevitable finally happened: an official Gorillaz comic book is coming.
The Damon Albarn-fronted digital band has teamed up with publisher Z2 Comics to create the first annual Gorillaz Almanac, due out this October. According to the publisher, the hardcover book features over 120 pages of exclusive artwork, puzzles and games, plus “special guest appearances” by Gorillaz collaborators.
“Every fan of comics and animation has dreamed of seeing the Gorillaz make their comic book debut, with the Z2 team chief among them,” says Z2 publisher Josh Frankel. “The artwork, the music and the mythos all add up to what is destined to be one of our most buzzed-about releases in history, and when fans see just what we have planned, I know everyone will agree it was well worth the wait.”
You can pre-order Gorillaz Almanac now via Z2Comics.com.
Meanwhile, Gorillaz has been releasing new music over the past few months as part of the group’s collaborative Song Machine project.
