Eric Lars Bakke / ESPN ImagesIn this time of quarantine, Offset is working on new music in his enormous Los Angeles pad, between spending time with his wife Cardi B and baby girl Kulture.
As part of GQ’s Creativity in the Time of Quarantine feature, Offset says he misses “putting [outfits] on and taking pictures,” but the Migos member’s using this time to challenge himself as an artist.
He admitted he dresses up simply to take photos in the driveway for fans while we’re all sitting at home. “Every day I’m throwing a different pair of shoes on, and I ain’t really going nowhere,” Offset told GQ. “I love drip so much.”
When he isn’t creating content for his fans, Offset is in the studio thinking of a more powerful name for the next Migos album.
“Quarantine has just given me a harder grind, a harder drive, on the inside,” Offset said. “I’ve heard the word culture so much” since their platinum hit, “Bad and Boujee” from Migo’s Culture in 2016, followed by Culture II in 2018. “As artists you challenge yourself — you have to keep moving forward. So I’ve been thinking of a plan to make something as powerful or more powerful than Culture,” he said.
In the meantime, Offset and Cardi are both taking full advantage of quarantine, doing couples activities like binge-watching Tiger King.
Offset said though the two have grown closer together since the lockdown, both are “ready to get back to work” and back onto stages around the world.
