Amy Lee and company have announced that their long-awaited new album, their first all-original effort since 2011’s Evanescence, is called The Bitter Truth, and it will arrive later this year.
“We promised you a new album in 2020 and we won’t let anything stop us,” the band says.
The first single from The Bitter Truth is called “Wasted on You,” and is due out next Friday, April 24. If you pre-save the single via the streaming platform of your choice, you’ll be entered to win a Zoom call with Lee, plus you’ll get to hear the track a day early.
The Bitter Truth follows 2017’s Synthesis, which included new recordings of songs from throughout Evanescence’s career, reworked with orchestral and electronic elements.
