ABC/Image Group LAUsher is bringing his dance moves to the Quibi streaming service with a dance competition series titled The Sauce. The singer will serve as an executive producer and judge on the show.
Dancing duo Ayo & Teo will serve as the show’s hosts, going city to city to find the dancer with the most sauce. Each week, two teams go head-to-head for a chance to win $25,000.
“Dance continues to drive much of our popular culture in increasingly more meaningful ways, and I can’t wait to help these young dancers express their extraordinary talent and vision,” Usher said in a statement reported by Deadline. “I’m excited to be working with Quibi and The Front, who share my vision for cutting-edge, culture-forward content and have created an innovative platform to recognize incredibly gifted dancers from across the nation.”
Ayo and Teo went viral in 2016 with their self-taught dance moves, earning an invitation to be in Usher’s music video for “No Limit” and later Chris Brown‘s “Party” video.
The Sauce joins the list of series that will be released on Quibi, Friday, April 6. This includes revivals of MTV shows like Punk’d, hosted by Chance the Rapper, and Singled Out, hosted by Keke Palmer. On Elba vs. Block, Idris Elba goes head-to-head with professional rally driver Kenneth Block performing driving stunts.
