Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagicT.I. and 50 Cent are the true definition of frenemies, but T.I. wants to keep it all about the music.
On Tuesday, the Atlanta rapper doubled down on his bet to potentially face off against 50 in a Verzuz rap battle, after spending Monday trolling and taunting 50 on the latter’s 50th birthday.
“Yea, I want to do it, It’s up, but that’s music,” T.I. said in an Instagram video with his “patna.” “That’s because my catalog is doper than his, period.”
T.I. is following through with his Monday challenge to 50, in which he said in another Instagram video, “Pull on up, 50. Bring your hit records with you. You and Dr. Dre and Eminem and all y’all, G-Unit, y’all [come] on out. Come on and see the King.”
After seeing the video, 50 tweeted, “Yo, somebody passed T.I. the [stuff] they gave Smokey in Friday. lol,” referring to Chris Tucker‘s character in the film comedy.
While T.I. and 50 have worked together previously, on Rotimi’s “Nobody” in 2017, it remains unknown whether 50 will accept T.I.’s challenge.
Meanwhile, Verzuz co-creators Timbaland and Swizz Beatz seemed enthused by T.I.’s suggestion, especially Swizz, who posted the looking eye emoji in the comments.
Could 50 and T.I. be the next Verzuz rap battle?
