Rare SoundsK Camp is on a steady streak of music releases this year, and now he’s taking it up another notch.
After his KISS 5 release in April, the RARE Sound C.E.O taps his in-house squad to drop the Rare Family compilation.
Among the various highlights, the album’s lead single, “Cry to You” is a standout record detailing the many times K Camp contemplated quitting the music industry.
“It’s been plenty times ahead, a million times in my career where I just feel like, ‘man, I’m tired of this,'” K Camp tells ABC Audio. “It’s one of the things where this is life, this is my life. Music is how I feed my family, how I feed myself, how I feed the people around me. You can be hit with so much pressure and so many L’s over the years until you get to a point, where you say ‘forget it.'”
“It’s been plenty times where I felt like, am I doing the right thing? Am I really supposed to be doing music or do I need to switch my lanes?’ But I stayed consistent, kept God first.”
He continued, “I got angels on me. I got a lot of people in my family that I was close to that’s gone but I feel like they really guide me through all this. So I stay levitated, stay level headed and keep putting out music.”
The 12-track project features K Camp and the label’s artists, including True Story Gee, UnoTheActivist, Genius, his newest artist Lil Bird, and more including a few collaborators such as Yella Beezy, Eearz, Seddy Hendrix and West Coast phenomenon Mozzy.
