Credit: Johannes LovundOne of the most common pieces of feedback Two Feet receives is that people often play his music while having sex. So, being that people have more time to be, well, intimate while stuck at home amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the “I Feel Like I’m Drowning” singer — non-stage name: Bill Dess — has been sharing weekly “Sexytime” playlists.
“That seems to be a consistent theme of people who like my music, is they put it on sex playlists or make out playlists or whatever,” Dess tells ABC Audio. “So we just thought it would be super interesting and kinda fun to have a weekly thing, give people new stuff to listen to, introduce people to maybe new artists, or other entertainers who they’re not familiar with.”
“So far it’s just been awesome, and, honestly, worked out a lot better than I thought,” he laughs.
Dess adds he definitely feels “good” and “positive” when fans tell him they like to get down to his songs.
“Having people say that they use it for sex and enjoyment with their partners or whatever is definitely one of the cooler, more flattering things they say,” he says.
As for why his music elicits that reaction, Dess guesses it could be the minimalist production of his sound, or maybe the bass lines or the chord progressions. But, really, your guess is as good as his.
“I definitely don’t write songs thinking, ‘Oh, this is really sexy,'” he says. “I just kinda write them thinking, ‘Oh, I really think this is cool.'”
