Ipecac RecordingsMr. Bungle has returned with the band’s first new recording in over 20 years.
The group, one of Faith No More frontman Mike Patton‘s many projects, has released a cover of “USA,” originally by Scottish punk band The Exploited.
“Doesn’t matter what part of the political spectrum you are on, everyone at some point has said ‘F**k the USA,'” says Bungle guitarist Trey Spruance. “The closest thing we have to a universal sentiment.”
Proceeds from the “USA” cover, which you can download now via digital outlets, will be donated to the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund now through July 4. Mr. Bungle has also released a limited edition “USA” shirt, with proceeds also benefiting MusiCares.
Earlier this year, Mr. Bungle reunited for their first live shows in two decades. Along with original members Patton, Spruance and bassist Trevor Dunn, the band’s lineup includes Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian and ex-Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo.
Meanwhile, Patton and company have been working on re-recording the 1986 Mr. Bungle demo, The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny.
