On Thursday, the Atlanta rapper announced his “Bad Boy” collaboration and hinted at a video.
“Friday Twin,” wrote Thugger on Instagram, sharing the song’s cover art. It finds both rappers dressed in black, posing in front of a burning car while Thug holds a can of lighter fluid.
According to video director Cole Bennett, the “Bad Boys” music video is expected to accompany the song’s release this Friday. It’s unclear whether the video was shot before Juice Wrld’s passing, or created digitally afterward.
“Bad Boy” follows the Yak Gotti and Gunna-assisted single, “Take It to Trial,” another preview from Thug’s next album, Slime Language 2.
Thug and Juice have a history of collaborating together on tracks like “Mannequin Challenge” and “ON GOD,” and on “Red Bentley,” from 2018’s Future and Juice Wrld Present…WRLD on Drugs.
“Bad Boy” also marks the latest Juice collaboration to be released after his death, following The Kid LAROI‘s “Reminds Me of You” and The Weeknd‘s “Smile.”
Juice Wrld was one of hip-hop’s most promising acts when was taken before his time. Born Jarrad Higgins, the Chicago rapper passed away on December 8, 2019 of a drug overdose at the age of 20. After after his passing, Juice’s estate released his posthumous album, Legends Never Die, last July. The project debuted at #1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart for one of the biggest debuts in 2020.
