Atlantic RecordsNovember is off to a great start with smashing new releases from Future, Lil Uzi Vert, 2 Chainz and more including — a Dungeon Family reunion with André 3000. Here’s a roundup of new music to take in over the weekend:
Multi-platinum rap superstars Future and Lil Uzi Vert wants fans to turn up on this Friday the 13th with their highly-anticipated new album, Pluto x Baby Pluto.
This joint project is accompanied by a music video for their explosive new track “That’s It,” directed by legendary filmmaker Hype Williams. He also directed a series of video trailers Uzi and Future both shared on social media.
Next up, 2 Chainz released his new album, So Help Me God. The 15-track album features his previously-shared singles “Money Maker” with Lil Wayne and “Quarantine Thick” with Mulatto. It also features a variety of guest appearances from Chief Keef, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Kevin Gates, Rick Ross, and more, including Kanye West and Brent Faiyaz on a song called “Feel a Way.”
For “Can’t Go For That,” a track that features Ty Dolla $ign and Lil Duval, 2 Chainz dropped a 70’s-inspired music video, where he plays each member of his own band — similar to Outkast‘s 2003 video for “Hey Ya.”
And for the grand finale, Outkast member André 3000 himself makes a rare appearance on “No Cigar,” a cut from Goodie Mob‘s new album, Survival Kit. After seven years, the Atlanta collective —Big Gipp, Khujo, and Cee-Lo — have returned with the follow-up 2013’s Age Against the Machine.
Produced by Organized Noize, the 16-track project features an appearance from Public Enemy‘s Chuck D, as well Dungeon Family alumni Big Rube and Big Boi.
