Radio Disney/Image Group LALovelytheband has premiered the video for “i should be happy,” the group’s latest track.
The animated clip reflects the sentiment of the song by following a cartoon version of frontman Mitchy Collins, who sullenly uses his computer as the outside world passes him by. You can watch it now streaming on YouTube.
“It touches on my ongoing battle with depression and the constant dark cloud it puts on my life,” says Collins of “i should be happy.”
“I am living my dreams, I’ve gotten everything I’ve wanted in life and still, for some reason, it’s hard for me to smile about it most days.”
“I should be happy” follows lovelytheband’s previous 2020 singles, “loneliness for love” and “waste.” The group released their debut album Finding It Hard to Smile, featuring the breakout hit “Broken,” in 2018.
