Credit: Robby KleinRival Sons have premiered a new, acoustic version of “Shooting Stars,” a track off the band’s Grammy-nominated album, Feral Roots.
Dubbed “Shooting Stars (In the Woods),” the track was recorded by frontman Jay Buchanan outside of producer Dave Cobb‘s home amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I went down the road to Dave Cobb’s, set my mics up outside, and tossed the cable ends into his studio doorway,” Buchanan tells American Songwriter. “The densely wooded holler was really reverberating my voice back to me on the louder parts of the song. You can hear the birds and the dog barking throughout.”
You can download “Shooting Stars (In the Woods)” now via digital outlets.
Feral Roots, which was released in January 2019, also includes the singles “Do Your Worst” and “Too Bad.”
