Speaking with Grammy.com, which premiered the track, the Blink-182 bassist/vocalist describes “The Lighthouse” as “one of those songs that came together very quickly, with everybody excitedly throwing ideas around.”
“What emerged from the session is a track we’re all very proud of,” Hoppus adds. “I hope everyone likes it as much as we do.”
“The Lighthouse” will appear on The Used’s upcoming album, Heartwork, due out this Friday. The record also includes guest spots from Hoppus’ Blink band mate Travis Barker, as well as FEVER 333‘s Jason Aalon Butler and Beartooth‘s Caleb Shomo.
Meanwhile, The Used is putting together a video for “The Lighthouse,” and you can be a part of it. The “Bird and the Worm” rockers are asking you to submit footage of any of the people in your life who are working on the front lines amid the COVID-19 pandemic to be included in the video.
Submissions are open through next Tuesday, April 28.
