Credit: Zackery MichaelThe Revivalists have shared a new performance video for “You and I,” a track off the band’s latest album, 2018’s Take Good Care.
The clip was filmed at the historic FAME Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, which was the studio of choice for many top R&B and soul artists of the ’60s, including Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett and Etta James.
The FAME version of “You and I” is included on the new Revivalists EP Made in Muscle Shoals, which was released earlier this year, and is a bit different from the original Take Good Care recording.
“We had no preconceived notion about how we wanted the songs to change before going into FAME Studios,” explains frontman David Shaw. “We really wanted the vibe of the room to guide us to that place. ‘You and I’ really took its shape once [guitarist] Zack [Feinberg] landed on that new riff you hear in the beginning.”
Made in Muscle Shoals also includes new recordings of the Take Good Care singles “All My Friends” and “Change,” as well as the breakout Revivalists hit “Wish I Knew You.”
