Burak Cingi/RedfernsRadiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien believes he has the COVID-19 coronavirus.
In an interview with Uproxx, O’Brien says that, while he hasn’t been tested, he’s exhibited flu-like symptoms for 10 days, and just recently has been unable to taste and smell.
“I Googled it last night and that’s a classic symptom of the coronavirus,” he says. “So, it’s like, okay, I’ve got it.”
Currently, O’Brien is holed up in his home in the U.K., and is self-quarantined from his family.
“For someone like myself, this is just a bad dose of the flu. I’m not in any way in danger,” he says. “I basically sat outside all day because the weather is glorious. It’s the first sunshine we’ve had this spring. It’s not a bad place to be.”
Meanwhile, O’Brien is gearing up to release his first album under his solo moniker, EOB. The record, titled Earth, is due out April 17.
