Credit: Darren CraigPapa Roach is revisiting the past for an upcoming project.
In an interview with Metal Hammer, frontman Jacoby Shaddix reveals that the “Last Resort” rockers are “putting together a piece to…look back to the early years and recap those moments.”
The project will also involve the Roach re-recording some of their earlier material.
“There’s some remixes and that kind of stuff, just because we’re out of contract with the old music,” Shaddix explains. “It wasn’t about reimagining what we do to it now. We matched it note for note, matched tones, I tried to get my voice to do the same little small inflections, so if we do remixes it sounds just like the track.”
As for when we’ll get to hear what Shaddix and company are working on, he says the band will be “making announcements in the middle of the summer for the fall.”
“We’re going to do some special shows around it,” Shaddix says.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Papa Roach’s hit 2000 album Infest, which spawned “Last Resort” and the singles “Broken Home” and “Between Angels and Insects.”
